Natural. Relaxed. Fun
If I told you this engagement shoot was taken in the middle of winter and it had snowed the day before, would you believe me? No? Neither would I but I promise you it was and it did! It also snowed the day after too! How about that for luck?
This beautiful pair tie the knot in May and before their wedding day they decided that they’ lovely little engagement shoot with me over on the Wirral. As I’d never been before, Caroline, who grew up close by suggested we meet in West Kirby. As it has a lovely beach with sand dunes and a marine lake! Perfect, I thought but then she mentioned the Hilbre Island and as soon as I saw them I knew we had to go! So that was it, we planned to meet on the beach when the tide was out and walk over.
On the morning of the shoot I met with Caroline and Jonne at the coffee house just off the Marine Lake and from there we set off out to the Islands. Along the way we had lots of fun on the beach, laughing, dodging rather large ‘puddles’ and chatting about their plans for the wedding.
Once we arrived at the Hilbre Island we made the most of the stunning landscape and gorgeous winter sun, explored and created some awesome portraits.
To anyone who has never been to these beautiful Islands, go. It is such a beautiful place, with so much to see and explore, especially on a warm, clear day like we had. The Islands are also really well known for their array of wildlife and if you’re lucky you may even see the Seals! Which is definitely enough to make me want to go back again!
So here they are, a few of my favourite moments from Caroline and Jonne's engagement shoot on the stunning Hilbre Islands at West Kirby...
