Hi There…

I’m Gemma and I’m a relaxed, documentary wedding photographer in the lovely little town of Darwen, Lancashire, but I love to travel and shoot weddings all over the Uk and Worldwide.

I live in a cosy little terrace house with my husband and our kids, plus two dogs Missy & Scooby. Some of my favourite thing have to be, that very first coffee in the morning, singing at the top of my voice to very loud music and animals – I love them all! Especially dogs, and when I’m not shooting weddings or editing you’ll usually find me working out down at the gym, running or out walking the pooches!

As you can probably tell, I love to be active and very rarely watch TV. Although, I have recently realised that I’ve developed a slight addiction to Netflix and all of its psychological thrillers! Team this with a glass of red wine or a Gin and Tonic and you’ve got me for the night. 

I also enjoy reading, particularly the last few pages of a book before I’ve actually started it and I have an obsession with buying herbal tea, most of which I tend not to drink, but hey it looks pretty and smells even better! I'm a secret eco-warrior and do what I can for the environment; I hate wasting paper, love vegetarian food and am currently trying to go waste-free one small step at a time. 

If you were to ask me what I couldn’t live without it would first and foremost be my family and friends, followed in no particular order by music, wine, dogs, Crossfit and running. I spend a lot of time down at the gym, on training runs or outside walking with the dogs but nothing makes me happier than spending quality time with my beautiful family.

My love of people is what got me into wedding photography and I’ve been a photographer now for a number of years. I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else and absolutely love it, every wedding is so much fun and no two are ever the same!

For me the best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to take awesome photos of two people in love.

My couples value excellent photography, are super relaxed and throw an awesome party! They love to laugh and have fun. For them its important to get beautiful images together, as well a spending quality time on their wedding day enjoying it with their loved ones.

My wedding photography style is natural, relaxed and colourful. I capture the big moments and the little moments, as well as everything else in between. I’m often asked what my favourite part of a wedding is but if I’m honest I love it all, from those pre-wedding nerves, the I-do’s, and of course the PARTY!! Get that music on and I'll see you on the dance floor…
