As a wedding photographer I get to see so many beautiful venues and lust after so many others! The variety and choice available to couples today is fantastic but at times, can also be a little overwhelming. So I decided to put together a post to help you find just a few of the great wedding venues that are available in Manchester and Lancashire for your alternative, unique and quirky wedding!
I’ve also thrown in a little wild card at the end too, so be sure you don’t miss it! It’s the perfect wedding venue for a unique and intimate wedding celebration, I literally fell in love with the place as soon as I walked through the door.
So, with out further ado and in no particular order, I give you; My 7 alternative and unique wedding venues in Manchester and Lancashire.
Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
Ooo, if you haven't seen this place you totally should! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it here!
Victoria Warehouse is a unique industrial building with a raw urban aesthetic and a place you can really bring your creative ideas to life. There are so many unique features, with exposed walls and stone floors the rustic, industrial backdrop really shines through and is the perfect venue if you're looking for somewhere that provides a stunning backdrop for your contemporary, industrial wedding.
Holmes Mill, Clitheroe, Lancashire
A former textiles mill that has been brought back to life. Holmes Mill is part of the James' Places brand and is nestled in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Clitheroe. Staying true to its heritage the Mill proudly bears all of its natural textured walls, exposed beams and period characteristics. This venue is brimming with rustic, industrial aesthetics and is a truly unique space to showcase your individuality.
The Wellbeing Farm, Bolton, Lancashire
A venue which is exclusively yours for the day, The Wellbeing Farm offers a large rustic barn for your quirky wedding. The wedding barn also features a unique parachute ceiling with 4000 fairy lights and is a fabulous blank canvas, that is yours to personalise. From quirky decor, llamas and donkeys this venue even has land available for your tipi, festival-style wedding!
Victoria Baths, Manchester
A grade II listed building, Victoria Baths is and Edwardian swimming pool and Turkish Baths complex which has been closed since 1993 and is awaiting restoration. The Baths provide a unique setting for your wedding and there are an number of spaces and backdrops available for use. The Gala Pool is one of the main areas and is suitable for large wedding receptions and the Turkish Rest Room is a beautiful space that is tilled from floor to ceiling and features unique stained glass windows, Perfect for the smaller more intimate wedding.

All Stars Lanes, Manchester
This place has unique written all over it! Imagine having your wedding at a bowling alley? Well, now you can, as All Star Lanes in Manchester is a licensed wedding venue! This venue has to be one of the ultimate alternative wedding venues available and would be perfect for that super-cool quirky wedding!
So there you have it, my top 7 venues in Manchester and Lancashire, I also have to share with you this superb venue, my wild card, it's a little further afield that the urban street of Manchester or the industrial backdrop of Lancashire but I assure you, it is truly worth the journey...
The Dreamcatcher, Penzance, Cornwall
I recently photographed a wedding here at the Dreamcatcher and it was amazing! The venue is so unique and has many original features which are combined seamlessly with an edgy industrial style and offers absolute luxury to those staying. It's the perfect venue for an intimate wedding or elopement. In a secluded location the venue is also perfectly located close to the Cornish coastline, so if you fancied popping off for a little intimate stroll along the beach on your wedding day, then you most certainly can!
